Description

Girard's extensive travels to Eastern Europe, South America, and Asia fueled his passion for folk art, which significantly influenced his graphic and product designs, making his work stand out during the post-war period of austerity.

In 1952, he designed the Wooden Dolls, a large family of wooden figures representing human and animal characters, for decorative use in his Santa Fe home.
