Description

One of a series created to celebrate Artek’s history, this poster features the iconic Armchair 41 “Paimio.” Designed by Alvar Aalto for the Paimio Sanitorium in Finland, Armchair 41 set new standards in modern furniture design. Made of recycled paper, each poster in the Icon Series is silkscreen printed. Designed by Berlin-based graphic design studio Greige.

Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto was a Finnish architect and designer. His work includes architecture, furniture, textiles and glassware, as well as sculptures and paintings. He never regarded himself as an artist, seeing painting and sculpture as "branches of the tree whose trunk is architecture."
