One of a series created to celebrate Artek’s history, this poster features Pendant Light A331 “Beehive,” the iconic light designed by Alvar Aalto for the University of Jyväskylä, Finland in 1953. Made of recycled paper, each poster in the Icon Series is silkscreen printed. Designed by Berlin-based graphic design studio Greige, Beehive Poster measures 50 by 70 cms.

Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto was a Finnish architect and designer. His work includes architecture, furniture, textiles and glassware, as well as sculptures and paintings. He never regarded himself as an artist, seeing painting and sculpture as "branches of the tree whose trunk is architecture."
Brand
Founded in Helsinki in 1935 by four young idealists. Furthermore, they are Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen, and Nils-Gustav Hahl. Their goal was to sell furniture and to promote a modern culture of living by exhibitions and other educational means.
