Description
The A333, known as the “Turnip” for its organic shape, combines elegance with simplicity to stunning effect. When in use, light emerges through the circular recesses near the top of the lampshade, serving to emphasise the pendant light’s rounded form. “Turnip” was created for the National Pensions Institute building in Helsinki.

Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto was a Finnish architect and designer. His work includes architecture, furniture, textiles and glassware, as well as sculptures and paintings. He never regarded himself as an artist, seeing painting and sculpture as "branches of the tree whose trunk is architecture."
