String® Pocket is sold as a complete wall shelf, but is just as flexible as String® System and opens up for creativity and personal expression. String Pocket in oak and white is an elegant and compact shelf that combines a light wood feel with a clean and modern look.

Its neat size makes the shelf perfect for smaller spaces. It works just as well in the hallway as by the bed to store your pocket books, above a work desk or in the kitchen with a bit of styling.

Designer

Nisse Strinning, 1949

Nisse Strinning, a Swedish architect born in 1917 in northern Sweden, completed his studies at the KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) in 1947. He designed the first String shelf in 1949 with his wife, Kajsa Strinning, for a competition held by the Swedish publishing house Bonniers. String was selected winner and has been a classic Swedish design icon for decades. In 2005, Nisse's last contribution to the String assortment was the String Pocket, which simplified the String System further.
